Whitman is currently seeking a Solar Project Design Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to support our firm’s Engineering Department.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare solar designs under the direction of Project Manager.
- Design tasks include:
- Prepare solar array layouts.
- Module stringing, equipment locations.
- Conductor and conduit sizing
- Utilize other software to support design efforts.
- Excel Spreadsheets
- PVSyst reports
- AutoCAD
- Participate in site surveys and project construction site visits.
- Assist Project Manager with construction administration duties.
- Coordinate, review, and issue RFI and equipment submittals
- Participate in conference calls with Project Manager and clients.
- Maintain administrative duties, including the following:
- Project files
- Time records
- Project Budgets
- Project Schedules
- Some travel out of State may be required.
- Lifting of upwards of 20 lbs.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in solar/engineering related field.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- E.I.T. certification or PE license is a plus.
- Working knowledge of electrical code, in particular solar and grounding sections.
- Strong technical writing skills.
