This pandemic has adversely impacted every one of us, from positive cases to the stress and apprehension of returning to our places of business.  With businesses and industries slowly beginning to reopen in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and across the country, we wanted to let you know that Whitman is here to assist to help make the transition back to the workplace easier – and safer –  for you and your staff.

How Can We Help?

Whitman offers a variety of services to combat COVID-19 and other viruses and airborne pathogens that may exist within your building or facility.  We are sensitive to business continuity and offer 24/7 services to quickly and safely get you and your business back to work.

Facility Inspections & Assessments

Whitman can evaluate your facilities and operations to identify and assess areas of concern related to COVID-19.  We will provide a report regarding your operations and facility conditions, and make recommendations of improvements to enhance the health and safety of your employees and the public.

Whitman’s inspection team will:

  • Identify areas within the building where maintaining social distancing could be problematic such as larger congregating areas like employee lounges, cafeterias, lunchrooms, etc.;
  • Identify optimal entry points into the building where body temperature could be measured and tracked for every employee and visitor entering the building;
  • Review employee and visitor policy for wearing COVID-related personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, eye protection, etc.;
  • Review the optimal COVID-related PPE to be worn in each environment;
  • Identify strategic locations for COVID-related PPE throughout the building;
  • Review potential “touch-points” through-out the building such as light switches, faucet handles, flush valves, doorknobs, etc. and provide high-level recommendations for replacement;
  • Provide recommendations for hand sanitizer stations and possible additional hand-washing sinks within the building;
  • Provide a high-level review of the building’s HVAC system and develop suggestions for appropriate methods of air disinfection.

Disinfecting, Cleaning and Verification Testing

Many companies are now offering services to assist in the disinfecting, cleaning and verification testing of all different types of businesses/public entities and Whitman is available to consult and provide the services needed.

Whether you are proactively considering a full or partial site disinfection/cleaning approach, Whitman can coordinate your disinfection and cleaning needs, with our staff providing verification testing.

You can be assured that only CDC-approved and EPA registered industrial-strength disinfectants with a broad spectrum kill claim are utilized.

HVAC Systems & Disinfected Air

The Mechanical Code for HVAC systems requires a certain amount of mechanical ventilation (outside air in all occupiable buildings) based on the occupancy and floor area.  However, most of the airflow serving spaces inside buildings is recirculated air.

There are actually a few ways to mitigate the proliferation of harmful microbials in the air inside of buildings.

Whitman has the engineering design technical expertise and experience to evaluate the optimal air disinfection method depending on your specific application.  Certain types of these systems can also provide odor mitigation inside spaces, as well as a reduction in the quantity of required outside air.

The outside air reduction could result in simplified HVAC systems and potentially lowered installation and energy costs.

In addition, Whitman can provide a preliminary evaluation of your current HVAC system remotely if you have accurate drawings.
