Overview

Over the past 20 years, Whitman has conducted environmental investigations at a former manufacturing facility in Hamilton, New Jersey.  Our work began with investigations associated with evaluations of soil and ground water impacts.  As part of this work, investigations lead to the ecological evaluation of impacts from the facility.  The evaluation included the delineation of the wetlands on the property and extensive ecological investigations of Miry Run and environmentally sensitive areas adjacent to the watercourse.  The investigations included sediment sampling of Miry Run, a pore water evaluation, taxonomical identification and sampling of vegetation, invertebrate investigations and background investigations along the reach of Miry Run.

The ecological evaluations required multiple New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Freshwater Wetlands General Permits and the requirement to conduct soil remediation in wetlands tributary to Miry Run.  As part of the work a restoration plan was approved by the NJDEP.
