We are pleased to announce that Whitman’s Carey Ruetsch has been named Whitman’s Vice President of Renewable Services, and Eddie Alonso, P.E., C.E.M., LEED AP has been named Vice President of Engineering & Business Development of the firm.
Mr. Ruetsch and Mr. Alonso have been integral members and leaders of Whitman’s Engineering Division for over 10 years, and have been instrumental in growing the division’s wide array of services, which includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, site/civil, process engineering, and renewable energy design.
Mr. Ruetsch has over 35 years of experience in the Engineering field, ranging from construction inspection and monitoring to design and project management. He has provided oversight on more than 600 MW of renewable projects throughout the US. He has created relationships with small commercial contractors as well as large publicly traded solar developers. As Vice President of Renewable Services, Mr. Ruetsch will be overseeing, managing and expanding the firm’s renewable energy service line.
Mr. Alonso has over 20 years of design and project management experience, including multi-discipline projects in various market sectors such as commercial, pharmaceutical, industrial, laboratories and higher education. He has significant experience in fire protection, plumbing, HVAC design and controls, as well as energy modeling and auditing for mechanical systems. As Vice President of Engineering & Business Development, Mr. Alonso is responsible for operations within Whitman’s Engineering Division, as well as developing new engineering and environmental business opportunities and creating customized solutions for Whitman’s clients.
