On April 2, 2020, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP)’s Site Remediation and Waste Management Program (SRWMP) set up a dedicated e-mail address, srp_submissions@dep.nj.gov, to submit forms, documents, and applications that are not already able to be uploaded through NJDEP Online, and are usually mailed to the Bureau of Case Assignment and Initial Notice (BCAIN).

The guidance includes the following:

  • Documents cannot exceed the file size of 25 MB. Anything larger should be split into multiple e-mails and sent separately, or saved into a drop box with the link sent to the srp_submissions@dep.nj.gov email address.
  • Electronic copies of documents and/or notice regarding drop box type retrieval can also be emailed directly to an assigned case manager.
  • Underground Storage Tank (UST) Registration questionnaires and associated documents should continue to be submitted via paper copy and emailed to srpustregistration@dep.nj.gov.
  • The only exceptions to e-mailing is any form, document, or application which requires submission of a check for payment. These must still be submitted in its entirety, including the check, via paper copy.

Please Note:

On April 9, 2020, the NJDEP issued clarifications to the above guidance, specifically regarding electronic submittal of Remediation Funding Source (RFS), Financial Assurance (FA), and laboratory data.
