Whitman was initially founded nearly 40 years ago as an Environmental consulting firm, and for 40 years our top priority has been, and continues to be, to protect our Earth and all its living things, and to create a more sustainable world.

Whether we are designing a remedial action workplan for a project site, conducting a hazardous materials assessment, customizing waste management solutions for a client, or assisting a company with adopting more sustainable practices, our goal is to find and deliver environmentally sound solutions to any and every challenge.

Our team of environmental and engineering experts are committed to applying the best practices and practical approaches in order to reduce our clients’ environmental liabilities. Here are some ways that Whitman stays committed to our mission through our wide array of environmental services:

Whitman’s Environmental Team is fully trained on the complexities of challenging environmental regulations, and we are sensitive to the details and specific procedures required by agency regulators and Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs). By following the procedures set by agency regulators, we have been able to successfully orchestrate the removal of contaminants from a wide variety of remediation sites. This allows the sites to be usable once again, no longer posing a threat to the environment and to human health.

Whitman’s Sustainability practices involve taking a hands-on approach to gain a better understanding of your company’s current operations, allowing our team of environmental and engineering professionals to review and look for logical solutions to help reduce your carbon footprint. We assess factors such as renewable energy, sustainable design, equipment efficiency, water and steam usage, indoor air quality, and so much more.

Whitman’s Hazardous Materials Assessment Team is comprised of highly knowledgeable and experienced professionals who have developed, designed and managed numerous projects relating to the environmental issues of asbestos, lead and mold. Our experience and expertise have been central to the successful completion of very sensitive and lengthy hazardous materials assessment and oversight projects for clients in both the public and private sectors.

Whitman has a dedicated Waste Management division, a team comprised of professionals who are able to establish cost-effective disposal and recycling options while ensuring your site is safe and in compliance. By diverting waste from landfills, materials that may appear “un-recyclable” can be converted into energy or reused to serve other purposes, in turn reducing overall pollution and creating a healthier environment.
