In 2021, Governor Phil Murphy signed a package of bills into law aimed at advancing New Jersey’s transition to a clean energy future to further the Administration’s goal of reaching 100% clean energy by the year 2050.
Among the bills signed was Bill S3223, which facilitates the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure throughout the state.
The bill establishes numerical requirements and zoning standards for the installation of electric vehicle supply equipment and make-ready parking spaces.
The goal of the bill is to combat climate change and its consequences by making it easier for people and families to use and charge electric vehicles.
