Project Spotlight
Whitman proudly provides Building Inspection Services to help identify environmental or insurance liability issues that may be occurring at a property, providing peace of mind to both buyers and sellers alike. For commercial or industrial property owners leasing space to companies who may utilize the leasehold for storing, producing and/or manufacturing various items, Whitman conducts exterior and interior inspections to evaluate and verify that proper environmental regulations and requirements are being abided by the tenant/lessee, and that safe and clean housekeeping practices are being conducted.
In the past several years, Whitman has performed such inspections at over 100 properties throughout New Jersey for multiple clients, including a real estate developer, a major food distribution company, and a state agency. The types of tenants/properties inspected include maintenance shops, pharmaceutical manufacturers, hazardous materials storage/distribution, general warehousing, cold storage, food storage and general offices. The assessments included visual observations, identifying potential building and fire code issues, documenting the handling of hazardous materials and waste, and environmental permit compliance, as well as researching State databases available online. A summary report is prepared for each leasehold detailing the observations and preparing recommendations regarding current or potential environmental violations and liability.
As a supplement to these services, Whitman also provides Sustainability Services and on-site environmental support to clients looking to reduce their environmental impact, enhance resource efficiency, and achieve their corporate social responsibility goals. Our team of environmental and engineering professionals can review your operations and provide a comprehensive report on items from as basic as minimizing waste to as complex as geothermal heating and cooling. We take a hands-on approach by spending time with your staff to get a better understanding of the current operations and then we look for logical solutions to help reduce your carbon footprint.
