PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
Whitman’s client recently received preliminary site plan approval for the development of their new corporate headquarters on a property located in central New Jersey. Whitman’s Environmental Project Manager, along with our client’s engineer, planner and counsel appeared before the Town Planning Board last month to provide testimony regarding the site re-development plans.
Whitman previously completed Phase II site investigations and addressed all potential environmental issues on the property. Whitman’s testimony to the Board summarized the investigations and offered solutions to any potential issues. The Planning Board was convinced that the development would be properly and safely completed, and the long-term use of the property would not involve an environmental risk. The Planning Board agreed that the re-development would be good for the community, and site plan approval was voted “yes” unanimously!

MEET OUR TEAM
Gary Fields, P.E.
Senior Project Manager
Gary joined Whitman in 2013. As Senior Project Manager in Whitman’s Engineering Division, he is responsible for the design and management of mechanical projects in various market sectors. He prepares mechanical design work including heating and cooling load calculations, equipment selections, and general mechanical system layouts utilizing AutoCAD MEP. He also investigates existing field equipment for improvements in efficiency and service life.
Gary is proficient in HVAC design including air systems and hydronics. Additional responsibilities include field surveys with clients, code review, report writing and construction administrative tasks including submittal and shop drawings reviews and punchlist inspections.
Gary holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey.
