Whitman is currently seeking a Civil Engineer with 8 to 12 years of experience to join our Somerset, New Jersey office. We are seeking an engineer looking to continue their career development as a civil engineer. This position will require working on multiple projects concurrently, managing demanding schedules and working with a team of engineers to design projects for our clients. This requires the candidate to be self-motivated, independent, results-oriented and able to re-prioritize as required. This position provides the opportunity to learn and grow technical competency.
Responsibilities:
- S. in Civil Engineering
- New Jersey Professional Engineer license required
Requirements:
- Create and maintain design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hydro-CAD or other relevant software.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design specifications for internal review and external submittal.
- Develop detailed civil site designs for various projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, schools, higher education, and mixed-use developments.
- Create grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility plans.
- Prepare road design, parking layouts, and pedestrian pathways in accordance with local regulations and design codes.
- Work with architects and other engineers to ensure integrated project designs and prepare complete site plan documents for new developments or site changes.
Project Management:
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Ensure project milestones are met and adjust designs as necessary.
- Coordinate with other professionals such as structural engineers, environmental engineers, and landscape architects to ensure the integration of civil engineering design elements.
- Lead Whitman junior staff in the design of civil projects.
- Communicate with clients and local authorities to ensure designs meet project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
