What is Mold?

The term mold is a catchall term for a group of fungi. They are present almost everywhere. Molds reproduce by means of tiny spores. The spores are invisible to the naked eye and float through the air.

In an indoor environment, hundreds of different types of mold are able to grow wherever there is moisture. Mold begins to be a problem in areas of water damage, elevated and prolonged humidity or dampness.

Can Mold Cause Health Problems?

For individuals sensitive to molds, they may experience irritation and symptoms that are similar to pollen or animal allergies. Depending on the type of mold and length of exposure, infections or other serious symptoms can occur.
