The entire Whitman team came together this month to celebrate the retirement of one of our firm’s longest-standing employees, Michael Metlitz.
Mike first joined Whitman in 1988, and over the past 37 years has remained a cornerstone of our company, showing unwavering commitment, professionalism, and a passion for excellence within the environmental industry. Mike’s contributions have helped shape Whitman’s success and culture in countless ways, and he will truly be missed.
Mike is retiring with over 35 years of experience in the environmental engineering field, including regulatory compliance and permitting projects for industrial facilities. At Whitman he became certified as a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) and was responsible for leading the firm’s LSRP program. Mike has significant experience with the environmental remediation requirements under the New Jersey Site Remediation Reform Act, and he was also responsible for ensuring that all Whitman staff members are current on environmental laws and policy changes. Mike holds an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University.
While bitter-sweet, we were honored to recognize and celebrate Mike’s incredible career and well-deserved retirement!
Thank you, Mike, for your outstanding service, and for being a fantastic colleague, mentor, and friend. Enjoy this next exciting chapter of your life!
