PROJECT HIGHLIGHT


Whitman’s Hazardous Materials Assessment team has been retained to provide on-site project monitoring, daily asbestos air sampling, and continuous air particulate monitoring during all renovations, restorations, and asbestos removal activities at the project site located in north Jersey.  The site is part of a large industrial complex constructed in the early 1800s, containing numerous historic buildings that are severely deteriorated.

The air monitoring and sampling activities are being conducted during the renovation, restoration, and asbestos abatement of historic buildings on the property, with continuous air particulate results being received through real-time cloud storage capabilities and made readily available on-site. Whitman’s Project Manager is coordinating project schedules, requirements, and providing daily report logs to the client to ensure that the project complies with the required federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

Whitman’s Hazardous Materials Assessment Team is comprised of highly knowledgeable and experienced professionals who have developed, designed, and managed numerous projects relating to the environmental issues of asbestos, lead, and mold.  Our experience and expertise have been central to the successful completion of very sensitive and lengthy hazardous materials assessment and oversight projects for clients in both the public and private sectors.

MEET OUR TEAM


Savindi Dharmawardena
Waste Division Manager

Savindi serves as Whitman’s Waste Division Manager, providing both managerial and hands-on support for the firm’s Waste Services Division.  This includes coordinating various consumer waste projects for a variety of clients, profiling hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste materials, and assisting in scheduling the safe transportation and disposal of products at various site locations. Savindi interacts with clients and vendors while working with the team to drive sustainable solutions for waste material.  Clients include those located at warehouses and contract manufacturers nationwide.

Savindi has successfully completed her 40 Hour HAZWOPER training and 8 hour refresher courses, and has her training certification in New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Hazmat Employee & RCRA Hazardous Waste.  She is also a certified AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector.
