Many commercial and industrial clients rely on boilers for a reliable, durable heating system. But older building units can become significantly less efficient as they age, resulting in higher energy consumption and thus increased energy costs for the building owner or tenants. These boilers were designed at 75-80% efficiency, but typically operate in the range of 60-70% as they age.
Whitman engineers are experts in the design and selection of state of the art ultra high efficiency modular boilers, which operate at 93-95% efficiency. These new systems are comprised of multiple smaller heating units instead of a single large boiler. The end result is only those boilers required to meet the heating demand of the building are used and thus there is more control over the heating system and increased comfort to building occupants. Since these systems are more efficient and are used only when necessary, energy consumption and operating costs are reduced significantly.
All designs meet all the latest LEED design criteria and are designed in accordance with the latest editions of the following:
- International Mechanical Code
- International Energy Conservation Code – Energy Use
- International Building Code – Construction
- International Fuel Gas Code
