Whitman is currently seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join the firm’s Environmental Division. We are seeking a candidate with 8-12+ years of experience in environmental investigation and soil and groundwater remediation. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills to excel in both client-facing and teamwork environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee investigation and remediation projects from start to finish, supporting the LSRP of Record.
  • Assist in the preparation of Remedial Action Outcome (RAO) decisions.
  • Evaluate environmental data produced from site investigations and assist in the development of cleanup solutions.
  • Plan, direct, and manage implementation of field investigation and remediation projects.
  • Oversee contractors.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and training of junior staff members.
  • Write/review technical reports for regulatory agencies, prepare proposals and scopes of work, and prepare cost estimates.
  • Meeting with and presenting to clients and regulatory agencies, including NJDEP.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related applicable technical field.
  • 8-12+ years of professional environmental experience, including performing/implementing site investigation and remediation projects.
  • Strong technical and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data review and assessment.
  • Ability to produce quality work products on budget and on time.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training and annual refreshers.
  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of, and experience working with, New Jersey Technical Requirements for Site Remediation and Technical Guidance Documents, Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites and Field Sampling Procedures Manual.
