Whitman was founded in 1985 with a mission of creating a stable and rewarding work environment for employees and providing innovative high quality professional environmental services for clients. This focus has lead to excellent employee retention, numerous staff members with more than 15 years of experience with the firm and a client base that consists of a significant number of repeat clients.

Whitman’s focus early on was centered around providing environmental services in site remediation and hazardous wastes to industrial clients. In 2003, a planned internal transition occurred with two (2) senior staff members acquiring the majority interest in the firm. Shortly thereafter, a senior management team comprised of a combination of existing senior staff and new senior staff was assembled with the objective of creating a vision of stable and sustained “organic” growth. This transition resulted in Whitman expanding services to include civil, structural and geotechnical engineering and expanding our client base to include state, municipal and school entities.

The expansion and diversification of professional services continued in 2007 with the acquisition of Brownworth Engineering, LLC, a recognized industry leader in mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, IT and security services.

Today, Whitman is a financially stable, thriving professional organization of more than 70 employees, all located in our 18,000 square foot corporate headquarters in East Brunswick, New Jersey. Whitman continues to attract new talent and aggressively invests in our infrastructure to ensure the quality of professional services provided to our existing and ever growing client base.
